Last Laugh

Last Laugh, the sword of the Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild of Solhan, a man only known as Jester.

Said to be of partial Elven blood, what is definitely known about Jester is that the man is insane. Dangerously so, because he is so far gone, that he has come out the other side to seem normal at times. But to this dangerous plotter, the world is one big joke, and the punchline seems to be that there is no punchline, only madness in the end of the road.

Last Laugh was crafted for Jester by his half brother, a shadow mage known as Vanity, who works with the Guild. The weapon is crafted from Shadowsteel, making it seem like the mineral hematite in it's dark metallic luster, and carries the mark of all four of the symbols found on tavern playing cards, as well as the comedy and tragedy masks of the theatre on it's pommel. Most deadly about this weapon is it's terrifying power to cause those wounded by it's blade to visit the nightmare reality of a world of madness, causing them to begin to laugh uncontrollably, as the madness takes hold. Most do not survive the ordeal, finally succumbing to oblivion with a rictus grin still on their lips. Those who do survive often wish they hadn't.
